Way Forward Records was founded in 1994 in New Jersey, USA with the purpose to revitalize the emotions of all kinds of people through music. No clearer could that purpose have been than when Jason Didner lost a good friend in a motorcycle accident. Remarkably, her unselfishness in life provided great solace when she left us too soon – having filled out a donor card, her vital organs saved the lives of four people – a much-needed light in her family’s darkest days.

In order to release his instrumental rock single in a timely fashion to give benefits to a charity in his friend’s memory, Jason needed to act quickly and decisively, assembling the right studio, engineer, musicians, packaging artists and duplicators to do his friend justice. The chosen charity: the Transplant Recipients International Organization (TRIO). The song, ‘Becky’s Tune’ elicited fond imagery of this vibrant and energetic young woman riding off into the sunset with that self-assured quality all those around her loved. TRIO went on to give the singles out as premiums to those who filled out donor cards or gave funds to this important cause.

Born out of sudden necessity, Way Forward Records came about before music could be distributed efficiently on the Internet, as it is today. But when technology came calling, Jason recognized that he and his team could achieve something that was once only in the realm of major record labels – the ability to share his gift with anyone in the world at any time.

The music of Way Forward Records is enjoyed from coast to coast in the USA, in Canada and throughout Europe, Asia and Australia/New Zealand. It has reached Top Ten positions in five different categories of MP3.com's worldwide charts, based on live streaming demand and CD sales. “I believe that the people are smart enough to choose their own music that appeals to them,” Jason says. “The magic of Internet technology is that if people seek out artistry that really speaks to what they feel, or want to feel, they will find it with little effort. You don’t have to rely on the shrinking number of powerful entertainment corporations to tell you what you like, just because people in a focus group liked it.”

Way Forward Records remains community minded to this day. Every quarter, the record maker donates 10% of its profits towards research to cure Juvenile Diabetes.
